A Tale of Salt and Sanctuary: My Experience with Tachi Builds

As I delved into the world of Salt and Sanctuary, I began my journey as a hunter class, but soon switched to wielding great swords instead. This flexibility is one of the game's greatest strengths – every player has their own unique tale to tell, shaped by the build they choose to pursue. While some players may find certain bosses easy to conquer, others will struggle due to the sheer variety of possibilities.

Despite its challenging nature, Salt and Sanctuary only becomes difficult in a few specific areas. The overall game feels like a 5 out of 10 in terms of difficulty, but my personal experience was more akin to a 6. One area where new players may find themselves struggling is with one-handed builds. While they can offer an added challenge, there's no real reason to bother with them unless you're looking for an extra layer of complexity.

The greatswords, on the other hand, are incredibly fast and pack a punch in terms of damage output. As someone who switched from hunter to great sword user, I found that my experience became much more enjoyable. The game is definitely worth playing, but be aware that attempting a one-handed build can make the game harder than it needs to be.

One challenging section stands out – the platforming area required to reach the Fire and Sky creed. While it may seem daunting at first, memorizing the platforms' locations makes short work of this section. Additionally, some bosses can one-shot you if you're not prepared with adequate resistance, but learning their patterns and avoiding these attacks becomes second nature after a few attempts.

My experience also included an ill-fated attempt at using a dagger build, which ultimately proved to be unviable. However, once I switched to a great sword build combining Jaws of Death and Pitchfire, I found that even the toughest bosses were no match for me. In fact, most normal enemies died in one hit, making the game much easier than anticipated.

In my opinion, the hardest boss in Salt and Sanctuary is the Tree of Men, which requires a level of strategy similar to the Bed of Chaos. After this point, the difficulty drops significantly, and I found myself breezing through the remaining bosses with ease. Overall, I would recommend going with a great sword build using either strength or magic for an enjoyable experience.

With Salt and Sanctuary's varied builds and challenging yet rewarding gameplay, it's no wonder that players continue to return to this world again and again. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or just starting out, there's always something new to discover in this enchanting game.
